President

Chris Gordon

From smaller firms to some of the biggest elder law and estate planning firms in the Denver area, Chris has garnered a breadth of experience uncommon for an attorney practicing since only 2010, having helped hundreds of Colorado families all all shapes and sizes set up and administer their estates. The timing was perfect to join forces with Wayne Stewart Elder Law to create Stewart + Gordon.

As a high schooler, Chris’s family lost his father to Lou Gherig’s disease (ALS). At a young age, he could see how his mother and siblings benefitted from his parents having their affairs in order.

A father of 5 small children, active in the community, Chris thoroughly enjoys serving clients in the areas of elder law, estate planning, probate, trust and estate administration, guardianships, conservatorships, Medicaid, and related matters. Active in his church and school communities, he is an active Scouter currently serving as the Bear Den Leader for his local congregation’s sponsored Cub Scout pack. He and his wife, Anna, enjoy every opportunity to share with their children their love of family, travel, skiing, and all forms of neighborhood adventures.

Founder

D. Wayne Stewart

Wayne has emphasized the care of seniors for many years in the Front Range, focusing on estate planning, long-term care planning, asset protection planning, and probate. Always one to advance the law, he has served actively in the Colorado Bar Association, has chaired the Elder Law Section of that organization and been a long time member of the Executive Council and managing editor of Elder Law in Colorado, the go-to handbook for elder law practitioners in the state.

Mr. Stewart was a member of the 1976 charter class of Brigham Young University Law School, a founding member of and remains serving on the executive board of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society (Denver chapter).

He has long been active in the Boy Scouts of America, Denver Area Council, and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married to a wonderful registered nurse/homemaker, and they are the proud parents of five children and an increasing number of grandchildren, all of whom share his love of water skiing, trail running, and road racing.

Wayne and his wife are in France as of September 2018 participating in missionary work for his Church.
